Step 1-2016 Orientation Schedule
Orientation is mandatory in order to enroll in classes and registration is required to attend. To register for Texan Orientation, you will use the link contained in an invitation that we sent to the email address with which you applied to Tarleton State University or click here. Once your Fall 2016 admission process has been cleared for orientation, you will receive an email invitation to register. If you need to search for this email, it was sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
What happens at Texan Orientation?
You will learn about university resources, experience a day on campus, meet with an academic advisor, and register for fall classes. Tarleton Transition Mentors (TTMs) will guide you and your guests throughout the day during your one-day experience. Please see a brief summary of the day's schedule below.
7:45 a.m. - Check-in
Orientation begins with check-in inside the Barry B. Thompson Student Center.
You will check in and be given your information packet, schedule of events, and welcome bag for guests.
8:15 a.m. - PSA Information
Information session for students enrolled in the Program for System Admission (PSA).
8:15 a.m. - College Readiness / Texas Success Initiative (TSI)
Required session for students with TSI marked on their name badges.
9:15 a.m. - University Welcome #Tarleton20
Designed for you and your guests to be introduced to staff and Student Life
All Things #Orientation
10:00 a.m. - #TarletonSuccess
Your roadmap to academic success. This presentation is designed to provide you and your guests with essential information to guide your path toward a timely graduation.
11 a.m.-1:20 p.m. - Information Rotation Sessions (includes lunch)
Students and guests will be introduced to the people who will play an important role in shaping the first steps to a successful college path from beginning to completion.

1:20 p.m. - Academic Advising (STUDENT SESSION ONLY)
Meet with your college representatives and begin planning your course schedule for fall semester 2016.

2:00 p.m. - Parent/Family Resource Session
Information and resources will be shared with your parents/family to help you through your transition from home to college, both inside and outside the classroom.
2:30 p.m. - Student Financial Assistance Services (SFAS)
Students must attend advising registration session before meeting with SFAS staff.
2:30 p.m. - Resource Fair
Complete your day by exploring the on-campus and off-campus resources available to you. Learn about on-campus jobs, faith-based programs, the university alert system, parking, postal services, the campus bookstore, ROTC program and more.
