Come Back to a Texan State of Mind!

October 16-23, 2016

Return to a Texan state of mind.

Return to your favorite campus spot. Return to the sound of the drum beating. Return to the warmth of the L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire. Return to watch the parade with your Tarleton Family. Return to cheer on Texan Football. Return to a Texan State of Mind.

The Spirit

A defining attribute of a Texan is the pride and spirit we all share for Tarleton State University. This spirit is embodied in everything from Oscar P to record fan attendance and was bravely defended by L.V. Risinger and Mickey Maguire in 1939. Tarleton spirit is even more apparent during Homecoming when Texans, both past and present, celebrate together.

The Game

There is no better way to reignite your Tarleton spirit than to attend a Texan football game! Join us as your Tarleton Texans take the field October 22nd against Texas A&M Kingsville, under the leadership of returning four-time LSC Coach of the Year Todd Whitten. The game will kickoff at 6pm in Memorial Stadium!

The Tradition

Rich in tradition, homecoming week unites students, alumni, faculty & staff as they celebrate the university's past, present and future! Purple pancakes, beating of the drum, roaring bonfire and other homecoming events are reminders of the Texan pride within each of us. The legacy of these traditions transcends your time at Tarleton. From your first day on campus to graduation and beyond, you will forever bleed purple!

The Family

Being a Tarleton Texan goes beyond your time at this great university; you are a part of the Tarleton family for life. Many of our graduates go on to raise future Texans, which is something that we pride ourselves on. "Bleed Purple" is more than just a saying; it’s a lifestyle and a family tradition.
