Technology Steps for Admitted Students

If you have been admitted to the university but have not yet registered, you will need to complete the following steps:

Step 1

Obtain UID (University ID Number)

This is a unique nine-digit number provided to you upon your application to Tarleton.  Your UID along with a starting PIN (MMDDYY) is sent to you in correspondence from the Admissions office. The UID number is used frequently to confirm your identity and to access certain online services - so it is a good idea to have it memorized. If you have lost your letter or have forgotten your UID, you may look it up at www.tarleton.edu/uidlookup.

Step 2

Apply for Housing Online

You may apply for campus housing using the Residential Management System.  The first time you login, your UID will be used for your username as well as your password.  Then, the system will request you to change your password to something unique.  This password is not synchronized with other Tarleton systems.

Step 3

Register for Classes

New students may use MyGateway to register for classes. First time freshmen and transfer students with less than 30 hours are required to complete an orientation prior to registration.  Please call 254-968-9490 or visit www.tarleton.edu/fye/ for more information. Login with your UID and PIN.  If you have forgotten your UID, you may look it up at www.tarleton.edu/uidlookup. You may also check your Financial Aid status inside myGateway.
