Technology Available for Current Students

Once you are a current student, you can sign up for or use any of the following services:

Password Retrieving / Resetting

You can set password questions and reset your network (NTNET) password using TSynch.

Network Storage

The T: drive is a virtual drive mapping to your share of server storage space. Students will see the T: Drive on lab computers when logged on to Windows using his/her NTNET account. Files saved to the T: drive have the advantage of being backed up and are accessible from any machine on which you are logged in to NTNET.

File Storage and Web-based Microsoft Office

For storage that is accessible anyplace, anytime, students should consider using the 7 GB OneDrive storage.

This is part of your Personal Microsoft account. Use your Go.Tarleton.Edu email address as the username to sign into OneDrive. Here you will have access to web-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.

Your Place for Resources

This is Tarleton's web portal where many resources have been assembled for your convenience, including registration, grades, and Blackboard. Login to myGateway at http://gateway01.tarleton.edu or click the myGateway link at the top of the Tarleton homepage.

Email

Your "firstname.lastname@go.tarleton.edu" account is your official university issued email address. Please check it frequently at http://outlook.com/go.tarleton.edu for important university information. This account is yours to keep for life. See detailed information on email options and configurations.

Blackboard (Online Classes)

Blackboard is a Web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. If you're enrolled in a course that uses Blackboard, be sure to ask your instructor how Blackboard will be used in that course. Login at http://online.tarleton.edu/Dual/DualLoginPage.htm with your UID and PIN number.  For help with Blackboard, you may call 1-866-744-8900 or email support.citde@tarleton.edu.

Emergency Alert System

As a student at Tarleton, you are automatically registered for the Code Purple Emergency Alert System.  You can find out more about the options and services at the Code Purple Emergency Alert System website.

Internet/Wireless Network

Tarleton provides wireless access points in many of the buildings on campus.

Texan Card

Once you are a current student, you may begin using your Texan Card.  To add "Texan Bucks" to your card or manage your account, visit the Texan Card website.  You may login using your UID and PIN number.

Parking Services

You can manage your parking account and permits by logging into the Parking Services website with your NTNET username and password.

University Libraries

The University Libraries have online access to databases, catalogs, course reserves and interlibrary loan.  For a list of services and how to access them, visit the Library website.

Residential Management System

You may submit work orders for maintenance for your dorm by using the Residential Management System.  This system uses your existing UID number and pin to login.

Job Searching

Career Services offers an online job posting/search system where students can find campus part-time jobs and many other types of jobs.  You may also post your resume for employers to view.  To register for an account, visit the Hire A Texan site.

Computer Help Desk

For assistance with accounts, passwords, computer labs, or campus computers, you may login to the Help Desk site and submit Work Order using your Network (st_) ID and password.

Web Site Account

You may create a Web Site (FTP) Account for use with your classes here at Tarleton.  The account is used for posting your own HTML web pages.  Once created, the account will use your Network (st) ID and a different password.  To have an account created visit the Web Services site.

Access Your Drives From Home (Virtual Private Network)

The VPN Client program allows your computer to access Tarleton's Network Resources though the Internet.  This has several benefits including connecting  to the Library Databases, accessing your T: Drive and many more.  

The VPN Client also provides a level of security using Virtual Private Networking to encrypt all traffic to and from the Tarleton network.
