An opportunity to serve
April 6, 2013
Student Leadership Programs coordinates Tarleton Round-Up each year which is an annual day of service that enables Tarleton students, faculty, staff and community members to work together in a collaborative effort to assist the Stephenville community. These individuals complete projects such as painting, raking leaves and cleaning gutters for elderly and Stephenville residents that cannot complete such common household chores that we take for granted. Tarleton Round-Up is a student-led and initiated program in cooperation with the City of Stephenville and the “Keep Stephenville Beautiful" initiative.
This year, around 500 Tarleton volunteers participated in the university's largest single-day service project. Volunteers are made up of Tarleton students, faculty and staff. These volunteers were teamed up and tackled projects at 63 job sites around Stephenville. The job sites were mostly homes of elderly or disabled citizens, however, volunteers also provided assistance to the Stephenville Museum, Cross Timbers Pregnancy Center and the local Foster's Home for Children.
