Welcome to Tarleton!
Tarleton State University offers various programs to help ease the transition into college life for its students. It is our focus to provide you with the tools necessary to succeed academically and socially, and to help you attain your ultimate goal of graduation. Beginning with your first year at Tarleton, Transition and Family Relations serves as a hub to connect you with peers, faculty, staff and parents. Our programs are designed to prepare you for the unique Tarleton experience and to connect you to your new Tarleton family. Welcome home!

Texan Academic Orientation
Orientation conferences provide new students and their families a quick glimpse into the Tarleton experience. Students are required to attend an Orientation session before registering.

Duck Camp
This three-day event provides students with the opportunity to meet their new classmates, learn about Tarleton traditions and to have a lot of fun in the process.

Texan Transition Week
This week provides students with the tools necessary for a successful transition into college life at Tarleton. Students will be completing requirements of the First Year Seminar course during this week.

Family Weekend
Tarleton prides itself on being a family and this weekend is the perfect opportunity for those closest to our students to share in that bond. Parents and families are encouraged to join us for food, fun and, of course, football!

New Student Connection Day
Hosted each spring by Transition Mentors, this event helps new freshmen and transfers familiarize themselves with campus and the Stephenville community. This day will make students glad they "upgraded" to Tarleton.
