An opportunity to serve

Tarleton Roundup

Tarleton Round Up is an annual day of service that enables Tarleton students, faculty, staff and community members to work together in a collaborative effort to assist the Stephenville community. These individuals complete projects such as painting, raking leaves and cleaning gutters for elderly and Stephenville residents that cannot complete such common household chores that we take for granted. Tarleton Round-Up is a student-led and initiated program in cooperation with the City of Stephenville and the “Keep Stephenville Beautiful" initiative.

In 2014, around 750 Tarleton volunteers participated in the university’s largest single day service project. Volunteers are made up of Tarleton students, faculty and staff. These volunteers teamed up and tackled 101 jobsites around Stephenville. The job sites were mostly homes of elderly or disabled citizens, however, volunteers also provided assistance to the Stephenville Museum, Cross Timbers Pregnancy Center and the local Foster’s Home for Children. The program also partnered with the Tarleton Environmental Society to clean up the Bosque River and the Bosque River Trail. Other partnerships with the City of Stephenville and the Tarleton Recycling Service allowed materials collected during the clean up to be recycled. Another partnership with Bulldog Shredding provided document shredding services to Stephenville residents to prevent identity theft. These programs will be offered again during the 2015 Tarleton Round Up.

* Tarleton Round Up has been rescheduled for Saturday March 28, 2015 *
