May 2014 Commencement Ceremony Information

The commencement ceremony for all undergraduate and graduate students at Tarleton State University, will be held May 9th and 10th, 2014, in Wisdom Gymnasium.  View our maps page for directions and a map to the ceremony locations.

Live streaming video of commencement will be available for all ceremonies on May 9th and 10th.

 


IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Vital information concerning the status of the graduation application is sent to each student's go.tarleton email account. Failure to check this account regularly may prohibit applicant's graduation and degree conferral.

Attendance

All graduation candidates should arrive at Wisdom Gymnasium one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony for check-in. Check-in will be in the small volleyball gym where candidates will receive a name card that they will hand to the announcer as they cross the stage.

All students are required to remain seated until the ceremony has concluded. Once the ceremony has completed, students will be allowed to leave.

Dress Code

Dress appropriately for the commencement ceremony.

Tickets

Tickets are required for the College of Education and College of Business Administration May 2014 ceremonies. No tickets are required for any of the other ceremonies, including the graduate degree ceremony.

The College of Business Administration bachelor degree candidates can pick up tickets in Room 173 of the Business Building starting March 31, 2014. Each graduate can receive up to 8 tickets.

The College of Education bachelor degree candidates can pick up tickets in Room 105 of  the Howell Building starting March 31, 2014. Each graduate can receive up to 9 tickets.

If you are a Waco, Ft Worth, or Midlothian graduate, tickets will be distributed at those campus locations.

On May 8, 2014 all tickets not claimed by graduates will be distributed to graduates needing extra tickets.

ALL CEREMONIES WILL BE HELD IN THE WISDOM GYM

FRIDAY, MAY 9th 

3:00pm

  • College of Business Administration (Bachelor Degrees Only)
    Each candidate will receive 8 tickets

6:30pm

  • College of Graduate Studies (All Masters and Doctoral Degrees)
    No tickets required
    • There will not be a separate hooding ceremony. Graduate students will be hooded on the stage at the ceremony by their major professor.

SATURDAY, May 10th

9:00am

  • College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (Bachelor Degrees only)
    No tickets required

11:30am

  • College of Liberal and Fine Arts (Bachelor Degrees Only)
    No tickets required

2:00pm

  • College of Science & Technology (Bachelor & Associate Degrees Only)
    No tickets required

4:30pm

  • College of Education (Bachelor Degrees Only)
    Each candidate will receive 9 tickets

More Graduation Information

Cap and Gown Information

  • Candidates who plan to attend the ceremony need to pick up their cap and gown at the Campus Store.  The university will not be responsible for expenses incurred in the ordering of cap and gown or invitations.
  • Candidates may contact the Campus Store at 254-968-9007 to order their cap and gown and university invitations.

International Flag Bearers

  • Tarleton student, faculty and staff are invited  to carry a flag during the International Flag Parade, which is a distinctive feature that opens each of our commencement ceremonies. This colorful display of flags represents the countries of our current international student body.
  • Individuals interested in carrying a flag should sign up before May 2, 2014, using the following form:  Sign up here
