Professional/Graduate Level Registration
Online Registration Instructions / Professional
Students who are close to completing a graduate-level professional certification program through Tarleton State University may be eligible to take the appropriate TExES exam. Departmental approval is required before a student can be given approval to test and a request to the department/program coordinator is generated by the Coordinator for Certification Testing once the TExES Test Approval Request Form is submitted.
See below for the steps in the registration process.
All questions related to testing should be directed to Ms. Brenda Strong, Coordinator for Certification Testing.
Step 1: Submit TExES Test Approval Request Form (by the deadline stated on the form)
Complete the TExES Test Approval Request Form online, save to your computer, and then send as an attachment via email to Brenda Strong at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also submit the form by fax to 254-968-9801. Ample time must be allowed for processing and testing verification of the request.
Step 2: Receive email from Brenda
An EMAIL will be sent to you by Brenda once your approval to test has been verified with the program director. This email will contain instructions on how to register. You will not be able to register until you have received this email.
Step 3: Register Online
There are specific test date windows for most professional level certifications. You must register by the deadlines set by ETS for each testing window. See page 28 of the TEA 2015-16 Registration Bulletin for published dates of Limited-Administration Tests found here or refer to the 2015-2016 TExES Test Dates and Deadlines page. (The Principal exam is the only continuousely offered test.)
