Each cohort of TMATE students must follow a pre-determined test sequence while in the program. This test sequence is developed by the College of Education to help ensure the success of students and Tarleton State University as the certifying entity and will be communicated to students upon entry into the program.

Students must submit the TExES Test Approval Request Form to the Coordinator for Certification Testing by the Tarleton Registration Deadline. Students will be provided with the form during the workshop designated on the TMATE calendar and the form will be collected and given to the Coordinator for Certification Testing, Ms. Sue Owens, for processing. An email confirmation will be sent by Ms. Owens once approval to test has been verified and designated in the online registration system. It will then be the student’s responsibility to go online and register by the ETS registration deadline.

If you request to take an exam by CAT, approval will not be granted until ALL test preparation has been completed. This may include, but is not limited to, the taking and reviewing of the practice test, enrollment in or completion of coursework, attendance at workshop, or successful completion of required remediation.
