Tarleton Jazz Festival 2014

52nd Annual Tarleton Jazz Festival, March 22, 2014

This year's Jazz Festival features the amazing trumpet virtuoso, Jon Faddis!  Jon broke onto the scene in the early 70's and became known for his uncanny ability to sound like his idol, Dizzy Gillespie.  He played lead trumpet on some of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra's most important recordings and became a first call studio musician in the city, appearing on hundreds of recordings.  More recently he lead the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band for a decade which has evolved into the Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra.  His command of the high range is legendary but he has become known for effortless playing in all ranges and in any style.  Join us for the festival and stick around for the evening performance of Jon Faddis and the Tarleton Jazz Ensemble!
