Welcome to Tarleton State University. Your interest in earning a degree in criminal justice is consistent with a growing national trend of criminal justice professionals seeking career advancement and academic credentials. Our BAAS in Criminal Justice Administration degree provides you with a broad-based education. The degree plan is designed to give you the skills and knowledge required to successfully navigate the competitive process to advance your objectives. I understand the difficulty of balancing education requirements, job obligations and family responsibilities.  I consider my role as your advocate in promoting your academic engagement to move successfully and seamlessly through the program.

The BAAS program is designed for employees of the criminal justice system. The 33 credits are awarded for documented training from an authoritative agency. Training is accepted from The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, certifiable military police training, federal criminal justice training and recognized training from other states. The hours and type of training are evaluated by the Department Head (commissioned Texas Peace Officer) and presented for approval to the Interdisciplinary Degree Programs Committee for final approval.
