Tarleton Society of Engineering Technology (TSET) is a social, service, and professional society with membership open to any one in the department of Engineering Technology. The members of TSET demonstrate an attitude of professional interest and involvement in the classroom as well as on the TSU campus. The society is active in professional development and provides leadership development through seminars, sponsored meetings, guest lectures and industry tours that enhance professional education of its members. Society of Manufacturing Engineers
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) is the world’s leading professional society that serves the field of manufacturing. The society provides publications, expositions, and professional development resources to approximately 60,000 members in 70 countries. Local SME chapters hold monthly meetings consisting of technical presentations and plant tours. The local SME chapter that serves Tarleton and the north Texas area is Chapter 51. Student members benefit from all the membership resources available to professional members and are encouraged to attend Chapter 51 meetings as often as possible. Society of Plastics Engineers
The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) serves professionals in the plastics industry throughout the world. The goal of SPE is to provide knowledge and educational opportunities in the field of plastics and polymers. Membership in SPE is designed to help the members keep up to date on the latest breakthrough technologies as they happen. The local SPE section that serves Tarleton and the north Texas area is the North Texas section. The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) serves the professional needs of industrial engineers as well as other individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. American Society for Quality
The American Society for Quality (ASQ) is dedicated to the development, advancement, and promotion of quality concepts, principles, and techniques. The goal of ASQ is to provide needed information to all professionals who are involved in such activities as total quality management, benchmarking, productivity, and other related issues of manufacturing.
