Rules for Freshman-Level Mathematics and English Courses
The university believes that having students enrolled in the appropriate mathematics and English courses early in their college careers is important to student success. Therefore, the Division of Academic Affairs has established placement and continuing enrollment rules related to freshman-level mathematics and English courses. The placement and continuing enrollment rules are located in the university catalog.
Who is subject to the placement rules?
- Mathematics : Students without prior credit for a college-level mathematics course (e.g., MATH 107 [TCCNS = MATH 1314]) are subject to these rules.
- English: Students without prior credit for ENGL 111 (TCCNS = ENGL 1301) and ENGL 112 (TCCNS = ENGL 1302) are subject to these rules.
If you have any questions regarding these rules, please contact Student Success, (Thompson Student Center, Room 15): (254) 968-9480 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
