Schedule of Events: August 19-26, 2012
Schedule Update: Convocation on Sunday, Aug. 26 will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Wisdom Gym. The current schedule has the start time listed as 7:00 p.m. The Candle Lighting Ceremony will immediately follow Convocation.
When you arrive for Transition Week, you will be assigned to a small group of other new students to share the week's experiences with. You will also receive a conference booklet that will contain full descriptions of each of the events listed on the below schedule.

There are several events throughout Transition Week in which a time will be assigned based on which small group you are in. Your Transition Leader will inform you of your pre-assigned days/times for the following events during your first Group Time meeting:

August 18
Saturday's events are reserved for students who are participating in Tarleton's Learning Communities. These students will be contacted by Residential Living & Learning concerning the following events:
- Learning Community Move-In
- Learning Community Pinning Ceremony
- Learning Community Dessert Reception
- Learning Community Rotation Sessions & Dinner
Sunday
August 19
On Sunday you will settle into your new residence hall and participate in several events with your families before getting to know your fellow group members.

- 5 p.m. - Passing of the Pen
(Families welcome!) - 6 p.m. - Transition Picnic

Monday
August 20
Monday's events will make you excited to be here and you will hear from students leaders about Tarleton's values and expectations.

- 9 a.m. - All Class Spirit Rally
- 11 a.m. Rotation Sessions: Lunch, "University Expectations," and "Core Values"
- 2 p.m. - Rec Fest and Wellness Conference
- 5 p.m. - Dinner
- 8 p.m. - Group Time
Tuesday
August 21
On Tuesday, you will learn what is expected of you as a scholar of higher education and be able to get a head start on your future.
- 7 a.m. - Breakfast
- 9 a.m. - Career Conference
- 11 a.m. Rotation Sessions: Lunch, "Academic Expectations," and "Academic Integrity"
- 2 p.m. - All Class Rally
- 2:30 p.m. - Meet the Colleges
- 5 p.m. - Dinner
- 6 p.m. - Amazing Race/Group Time
Wednesday
August 22
Wednesday's events will focus on how your decisions can impact your college career and your future. You will also get a chance to relax and have some fun as the week hits the halfway mark.
- 7 a.m. - Breakfast
- 9 a.m. - Civility Conference
- 11 a.m. - Rotation Sessions: Lunch, "R.E.A.L.," and "First Year Reading Experience"
- 2 p.m. - All Class Rally
- 3 p.m. - Open House
- 5 p.m. - Dinner
- 8 p.m. - Relaxation Station: Splashville, Movie on the Lawn, and Dueling Pianos
Thursday
August 23
Succeeding in the classroom is the theme on Thursday. The day will also include some fun and engaging activities for the entire Class of 2016!

- 9 a.m. - Academic Success Conference I
- 11 a.m. Rotation Sessions: Lunch, "Student Philanthropy," and "Convocation/Candle Lighting Preview"
- 2 p.m. - Open House

August 24
As the week begins to wind down, you will have another chance to check out the Academic Success Conference as well as discover ways you can volunteer in the community. The day will end with some live music!

Saturday is your chance to connect with current students and organizations at Tarleton. You'll also be introduced to TSU's great traditions and spirit.

Sunday is the culmination of Transition Week when you will get to experience two of Tarleton's most treasured and moving traditions.

- 7 p.m. - Convocation
- 8 p.m. - Candle Lighting Ceremony
