SOUVENIRS FROM SKY

Tracey Hanshew

As each drop falls, I count them as the  number of times I think of you each day.
My tears fill the cracks of my heart flooding it with emotion.
My soul begs the wind to whisk it from my body and carry me to you...

But, the rain has slowed to a gentle caress
much the way you once gently brushed the hair from my eyes
and your memory fades into a murky puddly for awhile
until the clouds break and I see your laughter in the dew.
