SPIN ON A PROVERB (27:5)

Adam Smith

Happenstance and games of chance
Have led me to this circumstance
Where hope entices true romance
With thoughts and feelings pending.

Pick a petal, chant a line.
Pick another, curse the vine.
Flowers do that every time,
Or am I just pretending?

Back and forth the courage goes,
And where it travels no one knows.
But now it’s caught me in its throes
With power unrelenting.

So hre’s my heart for you to take;
It’s your to love or yours to break.
It longs to know the choice you make,
So you decide the ending.
