Woman of God

Trey Gibson

Lord, I don’t want to write about beautiful eyes,
or ruby red lips and feminine thighs.
I don’t want to talk about something external,
But I want to address things much more eternal.
Like the love of a woman who loves a soft touch,
Who turned her eyes to me to love meso much.
Sometimes I feel who am I to deserve this,
to tell me she loves me and “it’s you I will miss.”

Jesus, I’ve tired to lead us in way that is pure,
But I’ve stumbled and fallen and I feel so unsure.
But Lord, when I look behind me I see her face,
She’s smiling at me with Your Beauty and Grace.
She’s just waiting for me to lead us on,
So she can walk like a woman, a woman of God.

Beautiful eyes, or succulent curves
None of them are mentioned in your word.
What You speak of is what I see,
In the woman behind, following me.

I want to treat her right God,
and treat her with love
And when she asks “why me?”
I’ll point her above.
I’ll paint your love as in a picture,
and I’ll refer her always to Your Scripture.
Lord God, thank You always for what you have given,
With a woman of God is a life that’s worth livin’.
