A Moment of Passion

Mathew Swanner

In a moment of passion
Hot sweat, blood, life
All flowing free
Sliding in sensuous spirals
Back-and-forth, in-and-out
Your body in a symphony of passion
Arches, writhes, contracts
And in that last moment you relax
Sleep, dream, so far from me
You cannot see the ending
A cotton cloth cleans the blood
A jacket sleeve clears the sweat
Away I walk
Leaving only trace evidence of night’s passage.
