Faculty Development Cohorts
The Center for Educational Excellence’s faculty development cohorts can help enhance your teaching and contribute to your curriculum vitae. Each cohort includes an evidence-based study component and an opportunity for compensation. A call for applications is released each spring semester. The cohorts begin in May and conclude with a poster night the following April. Due to the time commitment of these programs, they are generally recommended only for full-time faculty.
Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL)
The Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) is designed to guide faculty through the process of understanding and improving teaching practices through a scholarly inquiry of student learning.
SoTL is currently facilitated by Dr. Darrill Watson and Dr. Shannon Stoker.
Experiential & Community-Engaged Learning (ExCEL)
The Experiential & Community-Engaged Learning (ExCEL) cohort is designed to enrich learning through the integration of service-learning experiences, development of mutually-beneficial community partnerships, and implementation of an evidence-based research study.
ExCEL is currently facilitated by Dr. Casey Thompson and Ms. Rachel Truss.
