Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be issued tickets for commencement?

No. We aim to create a student-focused commencement experience that allows an unlimited number of guests to celebrate our graduates. Memorial Stadium, with the largest seating capacity in Stephenville and Erath County, serves as the venue for our commencement ceremonies. There are no options for moving ceremonies indoors, so no tickets will be issued.

So, if there’s inclement weather, the ceremony will not move indoors?

Correct. To enhance the students’ graduation experience, ceremonies will be held outdoors at Memorial Stadium. In the event of inclement weather at ceremony start time, there could be a delay of up to 2 hours. Should inclement weather persist, the impacted ceremony will be rescheduled to Saturday or Sunday. Please consider possible delays/reschedules when making your travel plans and reservations.

What if inclement weather persists throughout the entire weekend?

If commencement cannot be held in Memorial Stadium due to persisting inclement weather, graduates will be invited to participate in the next scheduled ceremony, currently set for July 26-27.  There is not currently an indoor facility on campus that can accommodate 700+ graduates and over 10,000 guests per ceremony.

Will there be seating options for guests with disabilities?

Yes. Accessible seating for disabled guests will be thoughtfully arranged on the mezzanine level on the home side of Memorial Stadium and on the ground level in tent seating at the north endzone. Please note that seating in the mezzanine area is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Once mezzanine seats are occupied, guests will be directed to ground-level seating. Limited seating is available for guests requiring special accommodations, so graduates are encouraged to apply quickly for accessible seating for their guest(s). See the ADA Info page for more information.
