Stephenville Campus Construction Update
O.A. Grant Building
The O.A. Grant Building furniture delivery and placement continues through Friday, June 27th. The east half of parking lot P30 and all of parking lot P12 will be blocked off and remain available for semis, vans and pickups delivering the furniture and workers involved in this phase of the renovation. Please use extra caution driving in this area.
Nine handicap parking spots have been relocated to Parking Lot P16 along Lillian street across from the Wells Fine Arts Center.
On Monday, June 23rd in the Tarleton Center Foyer, the contractor will start demolition of the ceiling and installation of temporary lighting. This should take approx. 4 hours. They will start on the east end near room 123 then move west towards the main entrance. The contractor will maintain a path open from the stairs that lead to the 2nd floor and the elevator (except for a few minutes when they have to demo the ceiling right above the doorway to these areas). The east entrance will be blocked from the public for the first part of this phase then switch to the west entrance (campus interior) for a few hours.
Also during this time the contractor will remove the temporary construction wall from the elevator to the east side of the building in preparation for ductwork demolition. Barricades and caution tape will be installed to keep the public out of the construction area until the completion of the project.
On Wednesday, June 25th the contractor will start ductwork demolition in the main foyer and hallway from the 2nd floor stairwell to room 123 and the area between. This will require the air handler units to be shut down until Monday, June 30 to allow for the ductwork to be sealed and insulated. The contractor will shut down sections of the foyer/hallway to allow access to the offices, elevator and stairwell.
People walking through the area will need to observe caution signs and stay away from barricaded areas.
Summer Campers on Stephenville Campus
Tarleton Conference Services Office hosts five camps the week of June 23rd through 27th. Approximately 400 young people will be attending one of the following camps: Cheer 3, Physics, Upward Bound, Football Lineman and Football Air Raid.
