Technology Available for Current Students
Once you are a current student, you can sign up for or use any of the following services:
Password Retrieving / Resetting
You can set password questions and reset your network (NTNET) password using Password Manager.
Office 365 is completely FREE for registered students
See instructions for Office 365. Please note that you DO NOT need a product key. You should activate your Office 365 Pro Plus installation with your go.tarleton.edu email account and password.
The T: drive is a virtual drive mapping to your share of server storage space. Students will see the T: Drive on lab computers when logged on to Windows using his/her NTNET account. Files saved to the T: drive have the advantage of being backed up and are accessible from any machine on which you are logged in to NTNET.
File Storage and Web-based Microsoft Office
For storage that is accessible anyplace, anytime, students should consider using the 7 GB OneDrive storage.
This is part of your Personal Microsoft account. Use your Go.Tarleton.Edu email address as the username to sign into OneDrive. Here you will have access to web-based versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.
Your "email@example.com" account is your official university issued email address. Please check it frequently at Student Go Email for important university information. This account is yours to keep for life. See detailed information on email options and configurations.
Tarleton State University continues to make efforts to improve productivity and efficiency and to respond to suggestions from faculty, staff and students. Over the years, we have received numerous complaints about excessive emails generated within the university and distributed to the entire faculty, staff and student email lists. Blackboard (Online Classes)
Blackboard is a Web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. If you're enrolled in a course that uses Blackboard, be sure to ask your instructor how Blackboard will be used in that course. Follow Blackboard login page and log in with your UID and NTNET Password. For help with Blackboard, you may call 1-866-744-8900 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tarleton provides wireless access points in many of the buildings on campus.
The University Libraries have online access to databases, catalogs, course reserves and interlibrary loan. For a list of services and how to access them, visit the Library website.
Residential Management System
- Log in to myGateway and access the "Housing" link through your "Student" tab.
- Fill out the required fields. Several fields are drop down menus.
- Submit the Work Request.
- It is also possible to visit your Residence Hall Lobby desk to submit your work request.
Please contact your Residential Leader and/or Residential Coordinator if your work order request is not addressed in a timely manner
Career Services offers an online job posting/search system where students can find campus part-time jobs and many other types of jobs. You may also post your resume for employers to view. To register for an account, visit the Hire A Texan site.
Access Your Drives From Home (Virtual Private Network)
The VPN Client program allows your computer to access Tarleton's Network Resources though the Internet. This has several benefits including connecting to the Library Databases, accessing your T: Drive and many more.
The VPN Client also provides a level of security using Virtual Private Networking to encrypt all traffic to and from the Tarleton network.
