Committee Chair Responsibilities
- Oversee academic assessment activities of the committee
- Organize assessment trainings for Tarleton faculty and staff
- Serve as an assessment consultant for Tarleton faculty and staff
- Coordinate regular feedback on assessment activities for faculty and academic affairs leaders
- Report committee progress to the Associate Vice President for Curriculum, Assessment, and Faculty Affairs.
- Stayed informed on current assessment best practices and accreditation requirements
External Academic Programs Representative
- Serve as the primary committee liaison for academic programs housed outside of colleges
- Serve as an assessment consultant for Tarleton faculty and staff
- Assure that assigned constituents are kept up to date on assessment activities, procedures, and schedules
- Provide assessment training and support for assigned constituents
- Conduct regular formal reviews of Tarleton’s academic assessment activities
- Stayed informed on current assessment best practices and accreditation requirements
Faculty Senate Representative
- Serve as liaison between the General Education and Academic Assessment Committee and the Faculty Senate
- Stayed informed on current assessment best practices and accreditation requirements
Faculty Representatives
- Assure dean, department heads, program coordinators, and faculty and staff within the college are kept up to date regarding assessment activities, procedures, and schedules
- Serve as liaison between the General Education and Academic Assessment Committee and the dean and department heads within the college
- Serve as the primary academic assessment consultant for Tarleton faculty and staff within the college
- Provide assessment training and support for Tarleton faculty and staff within the college
- Conduct regular formal reviews of Tarleton’s core and program academic assessment activities
- Stayed informed on current assessment best practices and accreditation requirements
Department Head Representatives
- Assure dean, department heads, program coordinators, and faculty and staff within the college are kept up to date regarding assessment activities, procedures, and schedules
- Ensure that every Department Head meeting within the college has a standing assessment agenda item at which assessment updates, activities, and deadlines are discussed.
- Serve as liaison between the General Education and Academic Assessment Committee and the dean and department heads within the college
- Serve as an academic assessment consultant for Tarleton faculty and staff within the college
- Provide assessment training and support for Tarleton faculty and staff within the college
