Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Estelle Gravois Murr now resides in Cleburne, TX. She graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, where she earned a BA in music, theatre and dance as well as a master’s degree in music. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington for a master’s degree in education and earned an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

She is the director of fine arts and head colorguard director for the Alvarado Independent School District, and teaches adjunct at Tarleton State University. Murr is the proud director of Texas’ first competitive special needs colorguard team, the AISD BUDDIES.

She is an active designer, programmer, choreographer, clinician, and adjudicator in the areas of marching band, colorguard, dance, musical theatre, and show choir. She has performed or worked with a myriad groups including Alliance of Miami, Ars Nova, Black Gold, and The Cadets.

She has been involved with NTCA since 1995 as a director, adjudicator, and board member, and was inducted into the inaugural 2013 class of the NTCA Hall of Fame. She is a member of TBS, KKY, SAI, TMEA, TBA, TMAC, and WBDI.
