The second most exciting thing about becoming a Tarleton State Texan is finalizing housing arrangements. Applying for housing at Tarleton State is as easy as 1,2,3…and 4.
Follow these four simple steps for an easy housing application process.
Starting Your Application Journey
Login to myGateway
Each admitted student has a unique identification code that consists of nine numbers. This code is referred to as the UID number and is VERY important. This code will be used to login to your myGateway account.
Visit https://uidlookup.tarleton.edu/ for information about how to find your UID number.
Open the student housing portal
Once you have logged into your myGateway account, you will be redirected to a main menu screen with categories like “Registration Tools”, “DuckTrax”, “Financial Aid” and much more. The housing applications can be found in the “DuckTrax” menu!
Once you enter the “DuckTrax” menu, you will see the following screen.
Once you see this screen, click the “student housing” link to begin the OFFICIAL housing application process. You will then be redirected to the Tarleton State housing portal.
Pay the application fee
After you apply for housing, you will need to pay the housing application fee. Your application fee is a one-time only purchase and it is non-refundable. The fee can be paid online!
Room Assignments
Once you have applied and paid your housing fees, you will need to sign up for orientation in order to select your room preferences. Orientation registration will open in October 2024. Students will receive an email to their official Tarleton State email address with details about how to make room assignment preferences.

Although the best way to find out more about on-campus housing is by scheduling a tour, you can also check out the Texan Cribs series on YouTube for a better look at what living on-campus is like.
Things To Remember
Even though the housing application priority date has passed, it’s still not too late to complete your application. The earlier you apply, the better chance you have at getting placed in your preferred residence hall.
