What to Expect for Move in Day!

It’s move-in time! This step is such an exciting time in your college career because it is the start of your next journey. If you are nervous about moving, that is perfectly normal! To help ease your nerves here are some things you should expect when you move in.

Arrival

Before your big day be sure to check your email for information on what time you are scheduled to move in and which location. Once you make it into Stephenville, the lines for your residence hall might be long so I would recommend preparing ahead of time if you do get stuck in a line. After finding your residence hall Texan Movers will join you at your car to assist you in unloading your belongings. Some helpful tips for packing are to avoid loose items, label everything with your name/ residence hall/room number, and pack items into a secure container (boxes, suitcases, or plastic totes). This system is quick, easy, and reduces YOUR stress on move in day!

Unpacking

For some this is the fun part, or it might not be for others. However, students have the ability to express their decorative creativity in their rooms. This will be your new home for the rest of the school year, so we encourage you to make it feel like home! Once you have your residential hall set up email us a picture of your room to be featured on our social media, [email protected]! To learn what items are prohibited visit: Move-In-Guide

Goodbyes

This is not a goodbye forever but a see Ya later! Enjoy this day with your family and take in those sweet moments. Your family is your biggest supporter and moving you into your first dorm can be emotional for some. This transition is a big one but having the love and support from your family will make it much easier.

Settling In

You have officially started life on campus! Your first few days here will be filled with T-Week activities and sessions. During this time, you will be bonding with your roommate(s) and hall neighbors. Life on campus is full of endless memories and an excellent learning environment!

The moving in process was one of my favorite moments from my freshman year. I enjoyed decorating my room to fit my style and meeting so many new people who have become some of my best friends. As you are starting your college life make sure you soak it all up and enjoy every minute of it because it goes by in a blink of an eye.  If you have questions about move-in or your residential hall, please email [email protected].
