One of the most important steps to consider when choosing a college or university is to sign up for a campus tour. Experiencing the campus in person is a great way to explore, picture yourself as a student, learn more about programs of study, campus traditions, and more! We can promise you one thing, there is nothing like seeing Tarleton’s campus in person! The 173 acre campus is breath-taking, and here is what you can expect from a general campus tour:
A Session with an Admissions Counselor
The first part of your tour at Tarleton will begin with a group session with an Admissions Counselor. During this time our staff will go over topics like, tuition and fees cost, financial aid and scholarship opportunities, housing requirements, quick facts, important deadlines, and more. You can use this time to ask specific questions you have about majors of study, how to pay for college, or what housing options are like. The duration of the presentation can be anywhere between 20-30 minutes depending on the questions and the size of the group. Our Admissions Counselors are equipped to answer these questions and are there to help walk you through the enrollment process. You even have an Admission Counselor assigned just to you! A Guided Walking Tour with a Current Student
This is the best part! A current student that knows everything there is to know about Tarleton is going to walk you around campus! You will have the opportunity to see our academic buildings, the Dining Hall, Student Center, Heritage Park, the Rec and more. Our students will share their experiences, help explain the student resources that are available, and tell you all about Tarleton’s rich history and traditions. There is nothing better than hearing real student stories while seeing the campus first-hand! Making a decision is always easier when you can see it in front of you.
An Application Checklist
Whether you are a freshman or a senior, you will receive an application checklist when you come on tour. This is more helpful for seniors that have applied, as it will break down your missing application items, TSI information, and current holds. It is helpful for all tour participants to see what we need from you when it comes time for you to apply! Being prepared is key! After the tour, you receive this checklist. Feel free to ask your tour guide or any of our in-house Admissions Counselors questions you have! We are here to help and guide you through the enrollment process!
