What is a Sport Club?

Tarleton State University identifies a Sport Club as a group of activity fee-paying students, voluntarily organized for furthering their common interests in a physical activity through participation and competition.

Sport Clubs provide opportunities for students to learn new skills, engage in friendly competition, and build community through regular practices, events, and tournaments. Sport Clubs offer members the chance to represent Tarleton at local, regional, and national levels. Whether you’re looking to compete, stay active, or meet others with similar interests, Sport Clubs are a great way to enhance your college experience!

How do I join a Sport Club?

Membership and tryouts are open to all currently enrolled students of Tarleton State University. Each Sport Club athlete must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. Potential members must read and sign a release indicating that they understand the risks and responsibilities assumed in participation.

For more information, contact the Sport Club Coordinator at 254-968-0761.

Each club is formed, developed, governed, and administered by the student membership of that particular club in collaboration with the Sport Clubs staff. If you are interested in starting a new Sport Club or for other information, contact the Sport Clubs Coordinator.
