On January 27-28, 2024, the first-ever Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Youth Escaramuza and Charro Cala competition was held. On the 27th, Freshman and Pre-Veterinary Medicine major Liliana Perez’s team won the Youth Escaramuza Competition (18 & under). Each member of her team received a $2,000 scholarship! The following day, she and her horse Machete competed in the Texas Invitational Escaramuza Competition winning 3rd place and a $1,500 prize (for the team).
Senior Animal Science & Pre-Vet major Kitzia Guevara competed in the Invitational Competition on her horse Piporro. Her team won 1st place honor, championship buckles, and a $3,000 prize.
