Texans Intern at State Fair

Written by Dr. Brant Poe

Tarleton State University’s College of Agriculture & Natural Resources provided high impact learning experiences to students via internships at the State Fair of Texas.  Interns educated the public on Production Agriculture through the BigTex Farmyard and assisting various show operations during the Texas State Fair which ran from September 30, 2022 – October 23, 2022 in Dallas, Texas.  Internships provide an opportunity for students to explore their career interests and gain professional experience prior to entering the workforce. Tarleton students worked alongside interns from Texas A&M University and Texas Tech. Tarleton State University faculty and staff help with the various shows by serving as judges and superintendents of livestock and agricultural events.
