Steve Steed Impact Award

Faculty within each of the six academic colleges will choose an award winner in each category to represent their respective academic areas. These winners will form the pool of nominees for the university-wide awards. A review committee of junior and senior faculty from across the institution, faculty senators, prior award winners and students will review the college-level nomination and submit recommendations for the university-wide awards to the Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs and Student Life.

Award Criteria

Nominees for this award should have displayed sustained and repeated illustrations of high levels of service impact not only within the Tarleton College of Business Administration but also other areas which might include but are not limited to: 

• Other Tarleton colleges;
• Other parts of the campus including athletic endeavors;
• Civic institutions;
• Public schools;
• Churches;
• Prisons;
• Student organizations;
• Committee service (both on campus and city and county); and
• Other similar endeavors.

When nominating, please include illustrations and examples of these efforts over an extended period. Evidence of such efforts may include: 

• Demonstrating a record of exemplary support and service to students and the campus community.
• Volunteering time and/or resources to work on improvement projects for the University community and beyond.
• Serving as an active member of an external organization that provides the Tarleton community with leadership and volunteering opportunities.
• Developing and maintaining relationships that extend the reputation and impact of the University.
• Serving as a role model, coach, friend, or advisor that people seek for help and professional development.
• Demonstrating a distinguished record of service both at the local and state, and/or national, and/or international level.
• Demonstrating a sincere commitment to the well-being of the University.
• Must be a full-time faculty member at Tarleton State University for at least five years (may include department heads).
• Faculty members who have received this award within the last five years are not eligible.
