The Science Achievement Center is a free tutoring center provided to Tarleton students! It is located in room 104 of the Science Building. Students can visit on a drop-in basis; however, schedules will vary depending on the subject in which they need assistance.
No appointment is necessary!
We have talented tutors in Chemistry and Biology. Listed below are the times you can visit with a tutor in your subject area during the fall semester. Come by and see us!

Qualifications:
- Must have made a B or better in Chemistry related course
- Chemistry, Biomedical Science, or Biology major (or related)
- Must be in good academic standing
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Helping students with science homework
- Assisting students to find solutions to problems by looking at notes and consulting other tutors
- Clearly explain topics, using various teaching techniques to cater to different learning styles.
- Address student questions and concerns, clarifying course content, assignments, and homework.
- Assist students in reviewing and completing assignments, offering guidance and feedback on their work.

Job Title: Junior Intern
Company Description:
The Achievement Center (AC) has two locations on campus offering free tutoring services provided by Tarleton State University. Based on the College of Science and Math, the AC services students in science and math subjects. The AC has two locations: the Math Achievement Center (MAC) in Math 203 and the Science Achievement Center (SAC) in Sci 123. AC interns work in both locations.
This is an Intern2Learn position. More information about the Intern2Learn program can be found at this link: https://www.tarleton.edu/intern2learn/
Qualifications:
- At least a Sophomore classification
- Must be in good academic standing
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, OneDrive, and Google Drive preferred
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating with tutors and GTAs to create a Center schedule for both locations
- Analyzing data collected through Center sign-ins and producing reports as requested by the coordinator
- Inputting tutor/GTA time into timecards, sending timecards, and receiving submissions
- Managing AC social media accounts. This includes content planning, creation, and posting
- Creating and managing all marketing materials for the Centers
- Helping hire tutors. This includes recruitment, reviewing applications, interviewing, and deliberations
- Finding aspects where the Centers can be improved and taking action to improve
- Other duties as assigned by the coordinator and senior intern(s)

- Appointments are not required, and wait times can vary depending on available tutors.
- Tutoring sessions are customized, and session lengths can vary. Please plan accordingly.
- You must be present during tutoring; you cannot drop off work to be reviewed by a tutor.
