Mission Statement

The mission of the College of Science and Mathematics (COSM) at Tarleton State University is to provide innovative programs of excellence in education, research, and community & professional service at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. COSM prepares highly competitive graduates as judged by the highest academic standards in the fields of science, technology, and mathematics (STEM).

Vision Statement

The College endeavors to be recognized regionally and nationally as a leader for excellence and innovation in STEM education and research. The College of Science and Mathematics is dedicated to

  1. offering students the educational experiences required to be successful in the STEM world,
  2. empowering faculty to provide high quality, engaging learning opportunities for students, both in and outside of the classroom,
  3. upholding the highest standards for treating all visitors, students, staff, and faculty with professionalism and respect, 
  4. recruiting, retaining, and graduating STEM students of varying backgrounds.
