Purpose
The Equine Science Program at Tarleton State provides an avenue for the educational advancement of equine-oriented students through an intensive applied educational curriculum and research program that addresses the current and emerging needs of the varied sectors of the equine industry and disseminates information to the industry.
Tarleton State University offers a multitude of equine science classes that will go towards an equine certification or tie into one of the options of the Bachelor of Science in Animal Science degree in the Animal Science Department including:
- Science
- Business
- Animal Production
- Pre-Veterinary Medicine
- Meat & Food Science
- Range & Ranch Management
These courses are designed to provide students with the academic knowledge and awareness necessary for a successful and rewarding career in the equine industry. The dedicated and skilled faculty at Tarleton strive to provide an education that students will benefit from for their years in the equine industry and once they retire.
Regardless of their major, students enrolled at Tarleton State University can enroll in the Equine Science Certificate.
