Dr. Sam Pack College of Business

  • ACCT 3303 Intermediate Accounting I -The environment of accounting, development of standards, basic theory, financial statements, worksheets, and the application of generally accepted accounting principles for the business enterprise with emphasis on corporations. Prerequisite: ACCT 2301 or approval of department head.
  • BCIS 4350 Management Information Systems– This course investigates management issues related to business information systems designed to meet the informational needs of the various business subsystems. The concepts of systems development, security, privacy and ethics associated with information systems are stressed. Prerequisite: BCIS 1305 or department head approval.
  • BUSI 3312 Business Communication– A study of effective communication, both verbal and written. Provides students the opportunity to gain practice in making decisions involving selection and organization of communication content, in choosing appropriate medium for presentation of information and developing effective business writing styles.
  • BUSI 4344 International Business– Broad coverage of key concepts and issues in international business. Emphasis on the environment of international business and the operations of the multinational firm.
  • BUSI 5365 Managerial Statistics– Review of applied descriptive and inferential statistical calculations. Examination of statistics as a decision-making tool under uncertainty; focusing on probability, univariate/inferential and multivariate statistics. Emphasis is on interpretation of statistical information. Student will evaluate and interpret data, and report on current problems in the student’s field of study.
  • BUSI 5397 Evidence Based Decision Making – Theory and practice of Evidence-Based Decision Making are explored. Evidence from scientific literature, organization data, professional expertise and stakeholder interests are considered. Students will demonstrate that business decisions are the result of in-depth research, data analysis and not the simple application of common sense.
  • MGMT 3300 Principles of Management – A study of the basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling resources to accomplish organizational goals. Management theories and the business environment are also covered.
  • MGMT 3350 Organization Behavior– This course provides a comprehensive analysis of the behavior of people at work in all types of organizations. Topics include fundamentals of organizational behavior: values, ethics, motivation, group dynamics, individual differences, attitudes, decision-making, conflict, power, change, stress, leadership, rewarding behavior, communication, and organizational structure.
  • MKTG 3312- Marketing– Examination of the principles and concepts of marketing goods, services, and intangibles by profit and non-profit organizations in a free enterprise and global economy.

College of Health Sciences / School of Kinesiology

  • KINE 3320 Theory of Strength & Conditioning I – The study and survey of contemporary strength training and conditioning. Successful completion of the course allows the student to sit for the appropriate examinations relative to being certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Conditioning Specialist. Prerequisite: BIOL 2401 .
  • KINE 3325 Theory of Sport Management – A study of the theories, concepts, and research associated with sport management including career preparation skills and professional opportunities available in the industry.
  • KINE 3330 Motor Behavior– A study of the behavioral characteristics for skill acquisition due to motor, physical, and neuromuscular development. Prerequisite: approval of the department head. 
  • KINE 3370 Physiology of Exercise– Effects of physical exercise on body processes. Prerequisite: BIOL 2401.
  • KINE 4302 Psychological Aspects of Sports – This course gives students a basic overview of sports psychology, covering aspects such as confidence, focus, mental training, visualization, peak performance, and the mind-body connection. It also examines the differences between group and individual sports and the mindsets of the prototypical athletes who engage in them. Prerequisite: Junior or higher classification.
  • KINE 4395 Sport Promotion and Public Relations – This course serves as the capstone course for the sport management program. This is a senior-level course focusing on evaluation of promotion and public relations within essential to sport management. Application of sport management theory and sport leadership will serve as the foundation of the capstone course. A case study approach is utilized to develop understanding of the practical challenges of creating viable promotional and public relation strategies within the sport industry.

College of Liberal and Fine Arts / Criminal Justice

  • CRIJ 3309 Victimology – The course is an introduction to the field of victimology. Emphasis will be given to characteristics of crime victimization and victims, the impact of victimization, and the treatment of victims within the criminal justice system.
  • CRIJ  4303 Crime, Justice, and Social Diversity – This course is an introduction to the complex interrelationship between cultural diversity, crime, and the American Criminal Justice System.

What is the history behind the TCC + Tarleton partnership?

Back in 2019, Tarleton established a presence at TCC Trinity River, a partnership between the two higher education institutions. A long-standing commitment to serving students across Tarrant County, TCC is also a Distinguished College Partner offering students access to the President’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program. This program guarantees a minimum amount in Tarleton scholarships to incoming transfer students based on GPA and course load.

Where is Tarleton @ TCC located?

Tarleton State University, the only public four-year institution represented at Tarrant County College, is located on the fifth floor of the West Fork Tower (444 North Henderson, Fort Worth, TX 76102). Tarleton @ TCC offers select upper-level and graduate courses for students. View the campus map to learn more.  

What are the driving directions to the Tarleton @ TCC location?

Can I be dually admitted to both TCC and Tarleton?

Yes! TCC and Tarleton have a Dual Admission Agreement meaning when you apply to TCC and note your interest in the “TCC to Tarleton” pathway, this will create a Tarleton admission application at the same time. You do not need to send your official TCC transcript. We’ll take care of it for you; however, you will need to send transcripts from other colleges/universities attended.

Specific benefits of TCC to Tarleton include locking in your guaranteed tuition rate, Tarleton academic advising support, early access to Tarleton events, and more.

How do I know what Tarleton classes are offered at TCC?

How does a current Tarleton student enroll for classes held at TCC?

It is recommended that all students (both those new to Tarleton State University and those who are currently attending) meet with their Academic Advisor before enrolling for the next semester. After meeting with their Advisor, students can register. To book your advising appointment through EAB, visit the Tarleton website

Already have EAB or need assistance?

Are Tarleton @ TCC classes restricted to Tarrant County College students?

No. Any student, including those enrolled at one of Tarleton’s Distinguished College Partners are welcome to enroll in these face-to-face or hybrid classes. Learn more about our Community College Pathways.

Will Tarleton @ TCC classes be offered beyond the Spring 2024 term?

Yes. Tarleton is committed to offering classes at TCC Trinity River for the foreseeable future. In fact, Tarleton is planning to offer a larger selection of classes for the 2024-25 academic year. 

How do I claim and activate my Tarleton student account?

There are just a few steps to claim and activate your student account after you are accepted.

How do I access my Tarleton myGateway Portal?

This login is for students who are currently registered or accepted to Tarleton, as well as faculty and staff. Please use your full NTNET credentials to login (i.e., faculty/staff – [email protected], student – 0########@tarleton.edu).

Will I pay the Tarleton or Tarrant County College tuition rate for Tarleton @ TCC courses?

Students will pay Tarleton tuition rates for any courses taken at TCC as they are Tarleton courses. View the Tarleton Tuition Estimator for details on resident and non-resident tuition plus required fees 

How do I apply for scholarships?

Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and achievement, demonstrated leadership, financial need and other criteria as defined by the specific scholarship program. Learn more about Tarleton’s required scholarship application and related opportunities.

How can I get more Financial Aid information?

What is the Financial Aid Consortium?

Tarleton State University participates in the Financial Aid Consortium program, which coordinates credit hours between partner institutions to financially assist students. Undergraduate students interested must be enrolled at Tarleton State University with a minimum of 3 hours for the fall, spring, or summer semester. Students must fill out a consortium agreement each semester they participate in the program and return the completed consortium agreement to the Tarleton’s Office of the Registrar prior to the 12th class day for processing. More information, as well as the Financial Aid Consortium form, can be found on the Tarleton Website.

Notification of participation in the financial aid consortium will be emailed to a student’s go.tarleton.edu email address. Students should always check their go.tarleton.edu account or forward it to their personal email.

  • Courses taken at the community college (host institution) are verified by Tarleton for transferability and use towards a degree plan.
  • Students are encouraged to verify the transferability of their courses to Tarleton prior to submitting the consortium agreement. TCCNS Developmental and audited courses are not eligible for the financial aid consortium.
  • Courses approved for the consortium agreement will be added to the students’ Tarleton registration, increasing the number of hours they are registered for.
  • Tuition and fees will be charged separately for the courses taken at the respective community college (host institution).
  • Students are responsible for ensuring tuition payments are paid at the respective community college.
  • Make satisfactory academic progress as specified by the Tarleton State University Satisfactory Academic Progress policy.

As a TCC employee, do I receive a waiver or discount when enrolling in Tarleton @ TCC courses?

How do I activate my Tarleton Texan Card?

The Texan Card is the university’s identification card issued to students, faculty, and staff. The Tarleton Division of External Operations will help ensure you receive a Texan Card your first semester. More information will be shared in your first class. Tarleton students are not required to get a TCC ID to access services.

Can I use the TCC Trinity River fitness center?

Yes. The TCC Trinity River Fitness Center is located in TRTR 1107. To learn more about contact information and hours, visit the TCC Website.

Where is parking permit required and where do I park?

Yes. A TCC Parking Permit is available at no cost to Tarleton students. The visitor entrance to the Riverfront Campus parking garage is located at Belknap and Cherry streets. You will receive more information in your first class. During your first week, share with the TCC parking booth you are there attend a Tarleton class.

Where can I find the Tarleton Academic Calendar?

The Academic Calendar is available on the Tarleton Website. All Tarleton classes at TCC follow the Tarleton Academic Calendar. Contact your professor with any specific questions regarding the class schedule and/or requirements.

Can I sign up for TCC Emergency Alerts?

Yes. You can add the Alertus App (TCC Campus Specific Alerts) to your Smartphone. You can use your Tarleton email and set up the email alert system. You will need to use the Organization Code: TCCD and the Pin Code: 8911. Please stay in contact with your Tarleton professor for any updates linked to your class. 

Do I have access to Tarleton Fort Worth resources?

Absolutely! The Tarleton Fort Worth Campus on Chisholm Trail is located at 10850 Texan Rider Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76036.

From the Rickett Library, additional study space and Career Services to Counseling Services and the Purple Pantry, as a Tarleton student, you have access to all Tarleton resources. Specific examples are below:

Tarleton’s new tool, the Student Support app by TELUS Health, is now available to all Tarleton State University students. The Student Support App connects students with free, confidential mental health and wellbeing support conveniently available 24/7 via the Student Support app, telephone, and web. TELUS Health content and support are available 24/7 in Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, French, and English.

Purple Pantry
The Purple Pantry @ Fort Worth is available during the building’s operational hours and is accessible by a card swipe. To gain access, complete the form and put in your Tarleton student UID number. Access requests are processed Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Purple Pantry @ Fort Worth, in partnership with the Tarrant Area Food Bank, stocks frozen, refrigerated, shelf-stable items, hygiene and personal care products, as well as academic supplies and child-friendly items like diapers, crayons, games, and baby/toddler specific foods.

Questions about ITS Support

Will we be able to use the TCC PC equipment?

Yes. Every Tarleton student will be assigned a TCC login and password to use TCC lab equipment.

As a Tarleton student, will we have access to Wi-Fi?

Yes. Tarleton students can use the TCC login and password to connect to the TCC secure Wi-Fi. As a secondary option, students can connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network using their Tarleton credentials.

Will Tarleton students have access to IT support?
