Friends of the Dick Smith Library

Established in 1990, The Friends of the Dick Smith Library at Tarleton State University is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of the Library. Membership dues and the generosity of donors enable Friends to provide this support.

Friends fund the acquisition of educational amenities which lie outside of the library budget; help sponsor discussions, lectures, book talks, and other scholarly activities; and aid in the creation of endowments, bequests, and other gifts to the Library. Support the library.

In 2016, the Friends of the Dick Smith Library endowed a scholarship that will benefit the student employees of the Dick Smith Library. A $750 scholarship is awarded each Fall and Spring semester. Donate to the Scholarship.

Member support is instrumental in helping the Friends maintain an association of individuals interested in strengthening and enhancing the Dick Smith Library and promoting it to the University and the Stephenville community.
