As Tarleton State University strives to obtain Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) status, during Hispanic Heritage Month, we will launch “Nuestro Destino: Road to HSI.”
During our “Road to 25X25” journey, Tarleton State University will showcase our collective/ongoing efforts of reaching 25% Hispanic enrollment by 2025. In reaching the 25% enrollment threshold, our focus will be to seek the HSI federal designation. Tarleton State will emulate servingness by continuing and expanding the programs, services, and resources already taking place at TSU, so that when we do obtain the HSI distinction we will simply continue providing the services already taking place.
In our effort to ensure we are emulating servingness at TSU, our first step is the creation of an HSI Steering Committee comprised of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other partners. The steering committee is charged with identifying key areas of servingness tailored to TSU. Moreover, the HSI Steering Committee will assist in collecting information of the best services/resources being offered by HSIs in Texas (and beyond) while identifying all current services/resources being offered at Tarleton State University.
