Comprehensive Assessments
A comprehensive assessment is required for all graduate degrees at Tarleton. The policies and procedures for the comprehensive assessments vary by program and are outlined in each program’s graduate program handbook. An oral assessment, when require is conducted by your advisory committee. A representative of the dean of the College of Graduate Studies will be invited to participate in this examination.
If performance on the comprehensive assessment is unsatisfactory, another attempt is allowed at the next regular administration, or, at the discretion of the advisory committee and head of the department involved, at an earlier date. Unless departmental requirements are more limiting, if the comprehensive assessment is not successfully completed after three attempts, you will be dropped from the graduate program.
