The Criminal Justice Doctoral Program at Tarleton has been an incredible experience thus far. As I reflect after completing my first year of study with six classes under my belt, it is really worth the investment to pursue this elite degree in a cohort setting that is modified for working professionals. With less than two percent of the U.S. population earning a Ph.D., this degree program prepares students to compete on the national stage while having a deep understanding on the emerging complexities of criminal justice research and issues. Faculty are supportive and challenge students to become critical thinkers with an analytical mindset. The pursuit of this dream for me has reminded me that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Each class builds upon the previous and the camaraderie of the cohort team environment adds to the experience and reinforces the educational objectives.
