The owl has symbolized wisdom for many cultures since ancient times. It embodies the Honors College’s commitment to excellence

The Year

The Presidential Honors Program started in the fall of 1985 with fifteen students.

The Classical Greek

The classical Greek phrase means “truth and excellence.” Many of the disciplines have their roots in ancient Greece

The Circles

The inner circle represents the Honors College’s ability to provide the advantages of a small liberal arts college. The larger circle represents the expansiveness of the comprehensive state university that is Tarleton at large.
