Distinguished Honors
Expectations
Distinguished Honors Scholars must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative Tarleton GPA. They must be continuously enrolled in at least one Honors Core course or complete an Honors Contract each semester until a minimum of 18 hours of Honors credit has been completed. In addition, Distinguished Honors Scholars must complete and successfully defend an Honors Thesis.
Honors Curriculum
If you have completed all of your core courses, you can earn Honors Credit by completing an Honors Contract in a course that is in your degree plan.
Scholarship Opportunities
Students who are admitted to Tarleton State by January 15 and have completed the General Scholarship Application by February 15 will be considered for a President’s Texan Scholarship.
In addition, the Honors College awards a number of scholarships to eligible participants on a competitive basis. Interested students should submit, in addition to an Honors Application, the General Scholarship Application Form and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
