New Incoming/Transfer Students Application Process

Step 1: Login to myGateway

Following admission to Tarleton State University, access myGateway using your Tarleton UID and password.

If you don’t remember your UID or password, use UID Lookup

Step 2: Access the Student Housing Portal

Select the DuckTrax tab; from the menu options choose the Student Housing tab to access to the Student Housing portal.

New Incoming/Transfer Students Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 Housing Application is now open

Step 3: Pay the $100 Application Fee

Paying the $100.00 non-refundable, one-time only fee is part of the housing application step-by-step process.

Step 4: Room Assignment

Steps to receive a housing assignment for New Incoming and Transfer Students (First time living on campus)
Step 1: Complete the housing application for the housing application term
Step 2: Pay the $100 non-refundable application fee – this is a one-time fee that covers all future applications.
Step 3: Be signed up for a Texan Orientation Registration Event or an enrolled student for the housing application term (Please allow at least 3 business days for processing of registration) TEXAN ORIENTATION REGISTRATION OPENS OCTOBER 2024
Step 4: When notified via email – student will need to Select/Change a room. ALL PREVIOUS REQUIRED COMPONENTS ABOVE MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO GAINING ACCESS DURING SELF-ASSIGNMENT WINDOW

Tarleton Meal Plan Requirements

New incoming and transfer students assigned to a residence hall or apartment environment will be required to purchase the minimum plan. Please refer to the meal plan options that become available in March to identify the right plan for you.

Find Your Room Assignment & Roommate Information

Occasionally assignments change due to cancellation. We encourage you to check your assignment and roommate information throughout the assignment period. This is available through the Student Housing portal in DuckTrax.
