Our Mission

To foster continual improvement for all Tarleton employees through flexible, adaptive training and development opportunities.

Types of Training & Development

Tarleton’s Human Resources Training & Development Team works in a collaborative effort with the University to deliver exceptional and relevant training targeted towards current and future needs. We are proactive in creating and delivering training that supports Tarleton’s commitment to employee development.

TrainTraq

TrainTraq is an online training portal used by all A&M System members to deliver training content. TrainTraq is accessed through your Single Sign On Menu.

In accordance with Texas A&M System Regulation 33.05.02, all Tarleton State University employees are required to take the courses listed below within 30 days of hire. Employees may also be required by their department heads and supervisors to complete additional training based on their job duties.

  • Orientation to the A&M System (one time requirement)
  • Creating a Discrimination Free Workplace/EEO (every 2 years)
  • Ethics and Fraud (every 2 years)
  • Shots Fired (every year)
  • Flash Point (every year)
  • Information Security Awareness (every year)
  • Title IX (every year)
  • Clery Act (every year)
  • FERPA (every year)
  • Export Controls & Embargo Training – Basic Course (every 2 years)

Workday Help

Workday unifies finance and human resources for all students, faculty and staff. It is a lifecycle management cloud application designed for the way people work in today’s organizations. 

Human Resources provides several ways to assist you in navigating Workday such as:

  • Working in Workday TrainTraq module assignments for all new employees and new managers.
  • Job Aids and Reference guides on the Workday Help site accessed via SSO.
  • Access anywhere using Mobile App

Leadership Series

Our Leadership Series webinars provide development for any employee who is seeking a leadership role or is currently in need of leadership guidance. Examples of topics include Tools for Leading Teams, Leading Culture Change, and Transitioning to a Leadership Role.

Performance Management Training

Performance Management training for Employees covers the performance evaluation process and cycle, SMART goals and the importance of a detailed evaluation. Performance Management training for Managers outlines the process and cycle, SMART goals, and the importance of an accurate rating and detailed evaluation. Questions are covered during each training.
