The Tarleton Marketing and Communications Internship program is a hands-on program that offers upper-level undergraduate students the opportunity to gain industry relevant experience in higher education communication. In addition to the knowledge gained by working in the field, internship students are subject to monthly partner meetings which enhance their skills through workshops, lectures, seminars, and group discussion.
Students in the Marketing & Communications Internship program will work directly as a communications professional embedded into a division within the university. There will be a wide range of experience, including social media and web content management, digital content creation, and extensive writing.
The Internship offers experience in the following areas and beyond:
- Writing: Gain valuable experience with professional communications through press releases, internal communications, and web content.
- Creative: Hone your creative skills with PowerPoint documents, letterhead pieces, graphic design, and social media content.
- Website Management: Take advantage of the opportunity to shadow editors and add WordPress to your resumé.
- Event Management: Be part of your team’s event planning from start to finish.
- Social Media Management: Under general direction, plan and execute daily or weekly content for the division’s social media channels.
