STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University has emerged as one of the safest college campuses in Texas based on a survey by YourLocalSecurity.com.
Tarleton ranks No. 5 in the survey’s top 10 safest college campuses in the state, one of four Texas A&M University System members to claim positions. The survey is based on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Campus Safety and Security and the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report.
“The hard-working men and women of the Tarleton State University Police Department, in partnership with our Tarleton community, foster a spirit of awareness and safety,” said Chief Matt Welch. “We are humbled to have received high rankings for several years in a row, including this year’s No. 5.”
