STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University has received one of two 2018 Grand Awards from the Professional Grounds Management Society for exceptional maintenance of its 180-acre Stephenville campus.
Part of the society’s annual Green Star® competition, Grand Awards are the highest honor given annually by PGMS, recognizing outstanding landscape design and construction. Villanova University in Philadelphia received the second Grand Award.
In particular, PGMS noted Tarleton’s vibrant purple and white tulips and pansies at the Welcome Center. SSC Service Solutions maintains Tarleton’s grounds, conserving and protecting the university’s natural resources and safeguarding its environmental health and safety.
“SSC is committed to creating and maintaining an attractive and environmentally responsible Stephenville campus,” said Grounds Manager Mike Newton. “The Grand Award speaks to that commitment.”
