STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Free income tax preparation will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in Tarleton State University Business Building 204.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is provided by Tarleton faculty and students. Taxpayers with income up to $60,000 are eligible for help, no appointments required.
As part of the Internal Revenue Service’s VITA program, Tarleton faculty and student volunteers prepared and e-filed nearly 20 federal income tax returns for community members Feb. 25. To participate in VITA, volunteers must complete IRS training and at least three certification exams.
Assistance is first come, first served. Bring ID, Social Security card, W-2 and any relevant tax documentation.
