“It’s an exciting time to be a Texan,” said Lathes Towns, Executive Director of Campus Life and Family Engagement as a part of the Division of Student Engagement and Success. “As we start the school year with enthusiasm and curiosity, each day is a new opportunity for growth. Together, we create a community for students and families, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive, and student support staff can connect.”

New students begin their college experience during T-Week with various events and activities to help learn and adopt the traditions of Tarleton State. From rallies on Rudder Way to lighting their candle at Convocation, new Texans are welcomed to campus in a way designed to form memories and connections that last.

WOW Week starts Thursday, Aug. 22, the first day of school. Information tents will be stationed around campus to help students find their way, and an involvement fair will take place where students can discover organizations and resources available to them.

A concert with performances by DJ Quan, Josh Abbott Band and Roger Creager will take place Friday, Aug. 23.

The Texan football team then hosts McNeese State on Saturday, Aug. 24. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. from Memorial Stadium, with the contest airing live nationally on ESPN2.

Other events throughout the week include DJ on the Lawn, The Big Feed, Black Student Union Cookout, Sundae on Sunday, Meet the Greeks, Texan Bingo and Splash Bash.

The fun will not be confined to Stephenville, with several WOW Week events taking place at the Tarleton State campuses in Fort Worth, Waco and Bryan.
