Willingham Exhibition To Be Featured at Clyde H. Wells Gallery

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Department of Visual Arts and Design at Tarleton State University will showcase the works of Morgan Ford Willingham in the first gallery exhibition of the fall 2024 semester, “You Threaded in Me.”

You Threaded in Me Poster

The exhibition will be on display in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Gallery in Stephenville from Sept. 4-26.

Willingham is an Assistant Professor of Art at Baylor University. Focusing on women’s identity and self-image in a contemporary world, the artist uses cyanotype portraiture to examine history, nature vs. nurture and our internalized obsession with appearance.

“The physical interaction in the creation of each piece provides a ritual outlet and space to meditate on the connection between the artist and the artwork and how each piece embodies a facet of my identity,” Willingham said.

The artist will also be giving a lecture at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 in the Health Science Human Services Building.

A founding member of The Texas A&M System, Tarleton State University is breaking records — in enrollment, research, scholarship, athletics, philanthropy and engagement — while transforming the lives of approximately 18,000 students in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Bryan and online.
